The Purra Rug

Based on a South American ceremonial mask discovered on a trip to Chile, we designed a bold Aztec pattern and spicy colour palette for this complex, plush rug. The luxuriant deep pile is hand-knotted and reminiscent of Berber tribal rugs and 70’s shagpile. To add texture and contrast across the abstract shapes, we looped the wool with disco touches of lurex yarn, finished with heavy fringing. You may find yourself sinking into this. As good on the wall as it is on the floor.

First designed by Jo leGleud for a decorative showcase at Decorex in 2018, and later shown at our 3am Room at WOW!House at Chelsea Harbour Design Centre in 2023.
