Gloriette Passementerie

Gloriette is a collection of luxurious passementerie celebrating Neoclassical architecture. The patterns in the collection draw upon two different architectural principles. One series focuses on Palladian symmetry, order and proportions, while a second narrative references the extraordinary Florentine Pietra Dura mosaic work and its vivid colour sensibility.

There are eight designs in the collection, detailed below.

First designed by Jo leGleud as a collaboration with Samuel & Sons.

A layered hand-printed ground upon which scrolls of dimensional acanthus leaves cascade across its surface.

A lustrous, embroidered 3” border with organic ombré of undulating hues inspired by Jo leGleud’s watercolors which explore seasonal colour gradations.

An extraordinary 10mm twisted chainette cord that stries colour across its surface and complements the Elementi Ombre Border and Elementi Tiered Fringe.

A sophisticated triple-tier chainette fringe composed of ombré layers of colour ranging from vibrant combinations such as Spiritz to Carciofo to more subdued mixtures in Tartufo and Castagna.

Evocative of Neoclassical architecture, Archi depicts a series of dimensional archways rendered with various embroidery stitches.

Rhythmic in its geometry, Colonna features a sequence of intricately embroidered Ionic columns upon a fine linen ground, offered in neutrally influenced shades of Carrara, Pietra, and Nera.

A delicate ½” embroidered linen border accented by hand-embroidered circles. It can be used on its own or in applications with the Archi Embroidered Border and the Colonna Embroidered Borders.

An embroidered natural linen border that illustrates the line and form of classical acanthus leaves in both tonal and vivid hues.
